OVERVIEW REGIONAL CRAFT
The story often starts out the same – beer enthusiasts with a clear vision and an intense desire to try their hand at the art of brewing. And yet, the brews are as different, as diverse and as creative as they come. Our lineup of local craft brewers reflect the southeast corner of our country with artful, thoughtful brews that make your customers feel at home.
Our Regional Craft Family:
TERRAPIN BEER CO.
This Athens, Georgia brewery was established by two beer and Grateful Dead enthusiasts, who eventually named their craft brew business after a Grateful Dead song, Terrapin Station. In October of 2002, their Rye Pale Ale was awarded the American Pale Ale Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, which launched their impending success. In addition to the Rye Pale Ale, their year-round brews include the HI-5 IPA, Recreational Ale, Hopsecutioner IPA, Golden Ale and Liquid Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter. Four seasonals round out the portfolio.
Based in Port Orange, Florida, Tomoka Brewing is joint venture between husband and wife chefs and restaurateurs. After the foodies opened their brewpub, their beers were quickly recognized with local beer awards. Their seven core beers include the Lunar Eclipse Stout, a malt-forward, chocolaty stout that finishes with subtle fruity flavors, and the award-winning Pumpernickel Porter, which is brewed with molasses and caraway seed for a creamy taste and freshly baked bread aroma.
ORANGE BLOSSOM (UNIQUE) BREWING COMPANY
President and founder of Orange Blossom Brewing (formerly Unique Brewing) started brewing in his garage at age 18, launching a lifelong passion for pushing the boundaries of beer. Since 2005, Orange Blossom Pilsner, the flagship beer, has commanded an impressive local draw because of its sessionable, fruity and refreshing taste. The honey beer made with local orange blossom honey reflects the company’s respect for traditional recipes, as well as their curiosity with non-traditional ingredients.
