OVERVIEW CIDERS AND GLUTEN-FREE
Hard ciders have been around for centuries, while the focus on gluten-free is relatively new. Nonetheless, ciders are a delicious and naturally gluten-free adult beverage option. Champion Brands carries several cider options to meet any taste – or dietary requirement.
Our Ciders and Gluten Free Family:
ANGRY ORCHARD CIDER
With a lineup of “Core” ciders, selects and seasonals, Angry Orchard started as a group of cider lovers who experimented with techniques and styles until they came up with something special. The apples come from all over the world, namely Italy, France, and some in the Pacific Northwest – all selected for their unique qualities to complement the varied recipes. Angry Orchard Cider is gluten-free.
Unlike other ciders, Crispin Cider does not claim to be a “sweet beer” alternative. Instead, Crispin Ciders are decidedly crisp, clean and refined. These super-premium hard ciders are naturally fermented using fresh-pressed apple or pear juice, not from concentrate, and do not contain added malt, grape wine or spirit alcohol. Crispin offers Original, Brut, The Saint, The Bohemian, Honey Crisp, and Cidre Blanc Boxed Still cider, Browns Lane (a fully imported classic English Dry Cider), and three pear ciders: Pacific Pear, Blackberry Pear, and Lion Belge. Crispin Cider is gluten-free.
SMITH & FORGE CIDER
In 2014, Smith & Forge Hard Cider was born. Boasting the “Made Strong” slogan on all of its cans, Smith & Forge takes a head-on approach to its hard ciders, “fermented in the tradition of days gone by.” Wearing a rich amber color and 6% ABV, Smith & Forge Cider offers a distinct, not-too-sweet taste and crisp, refreshing finish. Smith & Forge Hard Cider is gluten-free.
Available in Apple, Pear and Blackberry flavors, Somersby Cider is a light, easy-drinking cider best served over ice. Originally developed in 2008 for the Danish market, Somersby is now one of the ten largest cider brands in the world with a presence in more than 46 markets. The flagship Apple Cider is made from fermented apple juice and natural apple flavoring with no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colorings. Somersby Cider is gluten-free.
Strongbow Cider’s start took place in 1962 in Hereford, England, following over a century’s old tradition of cider making. Named for Richard "Strongbow" de Clare, legendary archer, Strongbow aligns itself as the cider that has “made its mark” and now claims the “World’s #1 Hard Cider” moniker. Strongbow Cider is gluten-free.
