1985
Earl Benton purchases Duval Beverage, located in northwest Jacksonville, in February.

 

1988
The company moves to the current location and officially becomes Champion Brands, Inc.

 

1999
In September, Champion Brands purchases St. John’s Beverage, expanding into St. Augustine.

 

2000
Champion Brands purchases Neal Tyler and Sons in December, acquiring Coors and several imports.

 

2001
Champion Brands is selected to distribute Red Bull Energy Drinks in May.

 

2003
Warehouse facilities are expanded by 40,000 sq. ft. through a purchase of adjacent land and a warehouse facility.

 

2006
CBI Savannah, the Red Bull division, is opened. The office and warehouse serves 31 counties in southeast Georgia.

 

2012
Champion Brands expands once again, adding another 40,000 sq. ft. to its warehouse capacity.

 

2015
Committed to minimizing our environmental impact, Champion Brands opens the first public compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Jacksonville and begins converting its fleet to CNG trucks in January.

 

2017
Champion Brands installs the largest solar panel system in Jacksonville to reduce their carbon footprint. The carbon dioxide offset from the solar panel system is equivalent to 119 metric tons per year, which is equal to the greenhouse gas emissions from 284,785 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle.
